Full of creativity - No, it's not mine ;)

Need an idea, something you can make yourself for your kids, their friends, the holidays, for fun? I can't stop looking and thinking about the creativity of this girl.

So Happy for this girl!!

I was able to be with one of my best, long time, greatest friends! Kindy's wedding and reception was fabulous. It was great to share it with her and her now HUSBAND Marty. I loved the dress, the colors, the food....who didn't love it? Thanks Kin for sharing your Special Day.

I really think these are amazing. Hamburger Cupcakes !! There are many great other things hidden in this link too. I guess baking these would be trial and error, the link does not reveal a recipe. My kids would rave over these as a substitution for the typical birthday cake. I'll have you know, I do not bake-this Martha Stewart is "baking handicapped" (ask my family). Maybe if there were directions I could give it a shot....any takers on ciphering out a recipe?

So much fun being young!

Now, I don't want anyone to be jealous after reading this post. I hope you can deal with the fact that you may have missed it. Yep, that's right, we (good friends Heather, Kindra and I) had the time of our lives at the concert/blast from the past/teen idol turned 30 somethings mother event. GO NEW KIDS!

How could we not go? I mean really. We are forever labelled the NKOTB fans whether past or present. Remember our lockers? So what if it was our sophomore year in high school. Jordan, Joey, the whole group already had hold of us by then.... we weren't ready to let go. Fortunately we did. Once the fannage wore off, not much has been said about the New Kids other than how crazy and funny it was that we were some of their biggest fans. But they're back!! The amount of fun we had the other night was bigger and more reminiscent than anything we'd experienced in a long time. Sometimes we need to just let go and act like we're 16 again. BOY, WE DID! It was so much fun-and really their new stuff is not too bad. Yes, they can still dance. Okay, some of you will still make fun but I'm so over it. P.S.Thanks girls for a good time

Delicious fall food

Once again I'll share a new (to me) product just for fun. (I love it when others do too).
Here's a tasty fall sort of food. I am not sure anyone will enjoy these nearly as much as I have, but I'm a sucker (me+sweet potatoes=YUM) for sweet potatoes. Lately I've enjoyed these with even the simplest at home lunch. It's like a french fry, but more fun. Thanksgiving is just around the corner. It is a very traditional holiday even if there is a variance in recipes from one family to another. To mix it up a little I'm considering serving them up as a surprise at our Thanksgiving dinner this year. Go ahead, try them! I got mine at the new local "Sunflower Market", but maybe you'll find them anywhere there is frozen food.

****Halloween posts coming soon.

Really?

Alright, I guess it could work? I'll forgo the camoflauge and the blue and wild green colors, but the natural and smokey eyes I wonder....do they really work? I have yet to master the right shading on my own, so could we assume this might help?

Make-up-stickers ?? It seems sort of silly, yet if I get brave or if someone else I know does, it would be nice to see if it's more than just an idea. Im not the most "make up savvy" person, but most of the time, a little make-up is part of my routine. Soooo.....what do you think?

Hooray!

A celebration for the start of the school year!!
What's a mom to do? One kid at home, and 3 at the same school all day.
I think I'll find plenty of projects to finish!
I'll post pictures of the cuties in their school outfits later, for now....
WAHOO!

The girls getaway!

The big get together my girlfriends and I had was quite "big" if you count all the adventures that were unexpected. Our trip was a Park City turned Salt Lake City over-nighter. I have noticed some friends have detailed stories of it on their blogs if you want to link up and read. They tell the shambles story of the hotel, the car rolling before our eyes, the late night dinner, and all the rest. They tell it better than I could. I just want to mention that it was FUN, FUN, FUN and I already miss it enough to plan the next getaway today. What a bunch of great friends I was able to hook up with in my youth (not that I'm old) because they are still so great to be around. We are able to be ourselves and share experiences, as different as we all are now, just like we did in high school. Thanks girls for an unforgettable weekend.

I Want this!

This is the bag...I want it.

Amy Butler Fabrics are my newest fave (actually I have been eyeing them for a long time) though I haven't made anything with them yet. I want a make-up bag, purse, bag, another bag, and some home decor. I look forward to showing you what I come up with, even if it takes me more time to get to it. I might just break down and buy one on ETSY!

Noise can be good :)

It's taken me a while to post, and if you've looked at the template of my blog....you know it's changed a few times. I really messed it up, but I think this one will work for a while. I just wanted to share the "awesomeness" (if that's a word) of the Capitol Theatre performance we went to last week. I have seen the STOMP performance before, but I liked it just as much the second time. We took our two oldest kids-they were mesmerized. I can't believe that a group of people, not using written musical notes, can find enough time in a lifetime to practice the rhythms they perform. It's truly amazing. If you haven't seen them I know they have a show in Vegas now. They use everything from tic tac containers to steel drums hooked on their feet with ski boots....who knew that was musical? I LOVED IT!

Love the weather

:) HOORAY FOR THE WARM WEATHER!!
I have felt so much better the last couple of days. I'm positive it's the SUNshine! I think the yucky spring weather has caused me to become "less cheerful". Im also tired of complaining about the cold. Those awesome summer days with kids are here and I remember:
1-Scraped knees (Owen got a good one this week)
2-Dirty tear streaks (You know when the kids have a dirty face and then they cry it makes tracks in the dirt down their cheeks)
3-The squeak of the hose being turned on (hmmm, I wonder what they are getting wet?)
4-Unclosed doors (in and out, in and out, but the door only opens....doesn't close, WHY?)
5-Dirty kid/wet dog odor (does being outdoors cause that smell?? What is that?)
6-Mud Pies (okay, so Im not a big dirt fan....but if the kids see dirt they think ADD WATER)
7-Peas (doesn't a fresh garden pea pod scream "SUMMER"?)
Anyway, this is just a sampling of what I am looking forward to, all because it means the weather is warm outside. I'm not going to complain when it gets too hot now that I've eagerly anticipated the heat, I promise ;).

I use enough of my time randomly viewing and wasting time on blogger, and now this. I ran into this site recently and found the endless blog topics I thought I had already discovered, just grew out of control. This is the perfect way to look a little deeper into any interest or wanna-be interest you may have. "Someone out there is willing to spend (waste) their time blogging about topics for for my benefit?"

Take some time to check it out. The info/reading material on this blog site has been an enormous "time waster" and "time filler" for me! It has inspired me to take time to do the things I like and to be a better mom and wife. Mostly, it's just fun! There is always someone out there who has something in common with you, and this will prove it. And if you want to be one of the volunteer bloggers who promote your blog for others to learn from, I noticed that there is a place to add a link to your blog.
ENJOY :)

I refuse to become old!

One of my favorites in the blog world is when other fellow bloggers share good products or fun activities. I find that Im drawn to the idea of sharing information to make life easier or better. Im convinced that's what keeps me going, and to realize Im not the crazy mom that doesn't know how to do everything right for her kids. Other mom's struggle too right? Well, my "product share" is not necessarily for better mothering, but rather not to lose that young mother look.
About 3 years ago I started using Strivectin for my hideous stretch marks on my belly and other un-named areas. I earned my stretchmarks during all 4 pregnancies. Many of you have probably heard of this stuff, maybe even use it, but for those of you left in the dark.....take note. After lots of news bits about people using it for their face to diminish fine lines and wrinkles the company expanded and stands behind the claims. So Do I! Since using it on my face, I have seen a dramatic difference in the depth of the fine lines around my eyes and mouth. I use it morning and night....only a small dot! It lasts forever. Right now I know Costco is selling it for a real deal. The two pack would last me about 2 years. You could use it for stretch marks and your face. It would still go a long way because it's concentrate. It actually feels so good when I apply it because it's a little tingly, and the moisture in it has taken place of my moisturizer.

You have to understand Im not a skin care guru, nor do I use a great face regimen....but I will swear by this for a younger looking face. Look into it....the $ is worth it.

Thanks again to all you "product sharing" friends. I love it!

My new thing

I thought I would display some of the newest "things" that have caught my creative side. (see photos in the right side bar) I have started making these necklaces. I start out with just a sheet of plastic. After some cooking, gluing and sealing I end up with these cute necklace designs. I haven't taken a picture of one of them on, but I should.
I'm going to sell them online at handmade crafts website. I will post more about them when I get them listed. I never thought something like this would catch my interest. I however, have had so much fun making them. Im kind of looking for some feedback, and would love to give some away to get a real market idea. Making something is just who I am (those of you who know me might agree)......I'll be sure to share as the designs evolve. :)
